Child informed mediation is where the childs voice is brought to the mediation, without the actual presence of the child. The childs wants, needs and perspective are all independently brought to the mediation by a child informed practitioner.
Where normally, an intake session is conducted with each parent separately, in child informed mediation, the child or children also have their own, age-appropriate intake session.
The child/children will sit with our practitioner in a stress-free environment where our practitioner can safely and age-appropriately seek to understand what the child needs or wants from their parents.
Sometimes parents just can't come to a resolution on what they feel is in the best interests of their children. Child informed mediation seeks to bring the childs voice, through an independent and non-bias medium to the table, so parents can work with the reality of what their child needs and wishes are.
